1. Bash [v,n]
  • Strike, hit, beat, thump, slap, an attempt, जोर से मारना
  • She bashed him with the book.
2. To cut a sorry figure [idiom]
  • To be ashamed, to create a bad impression, शर्मिंदा
  • She cut a sorry figure in her first performance on the stage.
3. Weather the storm [idiom]
  • To experience something and survive it
  • Bob lost his job, but somehow his family weathered the storm.
4. Lead someone up/down the garden path [idiom]
  • To mislead someone, deceive, lead on, delude, hoodwink, धोखा देना
  • In a crime novel, the reader has to be led up the garden path.

  • A group of lines forming the basic recurring metrical unit in a poem, a verse, छंद
  • This poem has ten stanzas.
10. Imperialism [n]
  • A policy of extending a country's power and influence, साम्राज्यवाद
  • Imperialism prevailed in the Ancient times of India.
